Third 3ye's quest for Deep exporations is only complimented by F3SOL's understanding the mysterious.

What is the inspiration behind this EP? How did you come up with the name?

I'm always amused by the balance of opposite forces in the universe - one cannot exist without the other (e.g., male vs female; positive vs negative; good vs evil and so on).

Third 3ye - Prima Materia (in alchemy) is a formless primeval substance regarded as the original material of the universe formed by the interaction of chaos and order in nature. The first track of the EP, Melanosis has a bit of an aggressive theme representing "chaos". On the other hand, the second track, Iosis is comparatively mysterious, deep and euphoric representing "order". But when put together you get prima materia and hence the EP name.

How did you overcome challenges to this EP?

Third 3ye - When working on a collaboration it was particularly challenging to share and work on ideas, since I'm currently based in the United Kingdom and my friend/collab artist is based in India. But, thanks to the online services, we managed to stay on the same page, work on different ideas and deliver our EP.

How did you decide on artists who would collaborate? And what do you think of the end

F3SOL: Third 3ye & I are childhood friends. We have always appreciated each other's style of producing music and we have already collaborated before on a minimal techno EP (Id: Deep in the Woods) and the response was really good. For this EP we chose two different styles and found it interesting to present it in a philosophical setting - we are happy with the end result. I am looking forward to more collaborations with Third 3ye in our musical journey.

How did you decide on the label who releases your music?

F3SOL: We are budding artists & we found this opportunity to release our EP on Whole Story Music - Mexico (insta: @wholestorymusic). We were looking for a label that has released tracks similar to our style of music and when we came across their profile & they had some really good releases so we decided to go on with them.

How did you find match in this label where your EP is releasing

Third 3ye: So far it's been a great musical journey in which I had an opportunity to get acquainted with quite a few artists from around the world. Apparently, one of my friend/mentor Marksman (UK) suggested this label after I sent our tracks for feedback. And fortunately the label was happy to release our EP.

An instrument or device that has been monumental in this EP? And why?

Third 3ye: I have always been a fan of psytrance and I try to design certain sounds into my production to create a mysterious atmosphere particularly the acid squelchy sounds and the rumble bass line. I use Sylenth for this and I also like to play around with automations on arps and synths using Diva to keep it interesting - all of which I have used in my tracks.

How soon can we expect your next release and what is that going to be about?

Third 3ye: I'm working on a few ideas at the moment. Nonetheless, there is a remix track called "Claim your love" coming soon. It's a melodic techno composition after a Greek artist called Geo S (insta:@geos.music) releasing on Hexagonal Music (Argentina). Really looking forward to the release.

F3SOL: Currently working on some tracks. Hope to release them this year.
