Tojogo's "Now Boarding" EP Takes off from For Senses on 16th Dec. Get onboard.

What is the inspiration behind this EP? How did you come up with the name?

The main melodies for each track were the inspiration, once I had those, I built the rest of the track around them. When deciding on the names, the two tracks together made me think of taking a journey so the first track for the waiting lounge and the second when boarding the flight.

How did you overcome challenges to this EP?

For both tracks the biggest challenge was to get the synth sounds spot on for the main melodies. In the end to get it right I had to use several sounds layered together.

How did you decide on artists who would remix/Collab? And what do you think of the end result?

Downpour was approached by the label to do the remix. I know his work well as we both have releases out on 3rd Avenue. He did a really great job. Beautiful percussion and sound choice building on the original melody. It’s a perfect addition to the EP and is getting strong DJ feedback.

How did you decide on the label who releases your music?

When looking for labels I firstly consider the type of music that they release and does it fit with my sound. Secondly what exposure does the label have, as a new artist you want to try and get your music out to the widest audience possible.

How did you find match in this label where your EP is releasing

For Senses Records were a new label filling the gap between Progressive and Organic House. I felt this was perfect for my sound. They also had some great releases with lots of support. They signed both tracks right away and are a great team to work with. Since then, they have released some really cool tunes featuring strongly in the Beatport charts. I hope my EP will do well for them and I am sure we will release more together in the future.

An instrument or device that has been monumental in this EP? And why?

The two tracks are mostly synth sounds rather than samples, these were produced using a combination of Serum and U-He Retro 1 & 5 which are my workhorse tools when it comes to production. Some of the orchestral sounds also come from the excellent LABS from Spitfire audio.

How soon can we expect your next release and what is that going to be about?

On the back of this first EP I have just completed a remix for For Senses Records which will be out in the new year, really happy with that one, It has a strong groove building on the melodies from the original track. You can hear this in my recent ‘Music For Senses’ Podcast.

After that I have a new remix along with my own two track EP coming out on Stellar Fountain. Two new tracks on 3rd Avenue as part of their ‘Three of a Kind’ series and a three track EP on Polyptych.
