Congratulations on releasing music on For Senses. It is a beautiful track and remixes are well done too. Thank you for taking your time out to answer few questions pertaining to your EP and thank you for an opportunity to premiere.
What is the inspiration behind this EP? How did you come up with the name?
Hey guys from Bangalore, thanks for the invite! I really appreciate it. So, my major inspiration started when I decided to do my solo career two years ago, putting all my experience over the past years producing with other projects. I was half part of a duo producing Tech House over the past 7 years and this gave me a good feeling to bring to an organic house, this groovy feeling, then I have the chance to meet Isabela Vicenzi. The combination of the vocals matched up really tight it. I really got even more inspired to mix down and finish the track.
My inspiration for the name of the track is definitely the place I was born in South Brazil, it is called Florianópolis, and it's an island with more than 46 beaches. I love the sea. I love this nature connection and the waves. I am a summer surfer (Rsrsrs) so I kind of match the ideas of Southern Waves (Ondas do Sul).
How did you overcome challenges to this EP? If there were any.
It was an instrumental track with nice layer of synths, bass line more up to front and a driving groove with vocal chants in the background. It was more organic house then I thought that a real vocalist could complement with a lyric, so I met this talented girl called Isabela Vicenzi who did a beautiful job! I think it has such a very vibe.
How did you decide on artists who would remix? And what do you think of the end result?
This was a great work from the guys from For Senses that selected and suggested it to me.
I am very happy with the outcome, too great remixes that made the EP really interesting. Both Issac Differding and Pave made an excellent work on the remixes. Could be on any dance floor for a great warmup or for a late time groovy track.
How did you decide on the label who releases your music?
I am also a label owner too, it is called House Machine, so my plan is to release some of my music there, and specifically on this release I have a big friendship with the label. Usually I try two ways. Sometimes I produce thinking on some specific label, but other times I just let the music flow and get all my references to free up my mind and to do something more original as possible.
How did you find match in this label where your EP is releasing?
Me and the label boss on For Senses, Gorkiz kind of started on the same period back in the days, and I always followed his steps and trust his good work with the music project and the great work with his labels.
An instrument or device that has been monumental in this EP? And why?
I have to get credits for Isabela Vicenzy, she made an amazing vibe with her vocals, and the beauty of that, when we recorded i said to her to be relaxed and go beyond the lyrics and she put some improvisations all in one single shot! So later on I put the best parts together and I come with these results.
How soon can we expect your next release and what is that going to be about?
So right now i am in a stage to push new tracks to progressive and melodic techno, but always with organic instruments i think real instruments match perfectly with sound design and synths made with the plugins i love to use, i have a passion for warmups but my love is the peak time on the dance floor. Everyone has their own ways to innovate. I try to push myself for good and quality music. Best Regards and Hugs from Brazil.
Great track and interview !!
